For the Pumpkin Sauce
- ½ cup pumpkin purée
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- ⅔ cup water
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Espresso Martini
- 1½ oz vodka
- 1½ oz espresso cooled
- 1 oz pumpkin sauce homemade or storebought
- 1 oz milk or cream use dairy-free if preferred
- ½ oz kahlúa or other coffee liqueuer
- Cinnamon powder and 3 coffee beans for garnish
Make the Pumpkin Sauce
Add all pumpkin sauce ingredients except the vanilla extract to a small saucepan and turn to medium low heat. Heat gently for 5 minutes until the sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
Allow the pumpkin sauce to cool completely then pour into a jar and keep in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
Make the Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini
Add all of the espresso martini ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Close tightly and shake for 30-60 seconds until the outside is frosty.
Remove the small cap of the shaker and/or strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a dusting of cinnamon and 3 coffee beans. Enjoy responsibly!
- Pumpkin sauce: Use my recipe for a homemade pumpkin sauce here, or use a store bought version. Pumpkin spice syrup will work too.
- Dairy-free: Use coconut cream or a dairy-free milk of your choice instead.
- Batching: Because they need to be shaken to achieve the beautiful foam on top, espresso martinis are tricky to batch. The most you can likely fit in your cocktail shaker is 2 drinks. Be patient if making for a crowd.
