Protein Shamrock Shake

Get your greens in while satisfying your St. Paddy's Day cravings with this high protein shamrock shake! Creamy, minty, and delicious, it's a healthier twist on the holiday classic. Blend it up in minutes and enjoy a decadent sip of green goodness!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 frozen banana in chunks
  • ¼ medium avocado
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder I use Whey
  • ¼ teaspoon each: peppermint extract and vanilla extract
  • cup milk of choice
  • Top with whipped cream and a cherry

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to the bucket of a high powered blender. Blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth.
  • Pour into a glass, then top with whipped cream and a cherry on top if you wish. Enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • I like to use whey protein, but plant based will work too. 
  • My favorite high powered blenders are the ZWILLING ENFINIGY power blender, and the Vitamix E310.
  • Additional nutrition: Add collagen powder, chia seeds, flax, or any other nutritional supplements to bulk up this smoothie.
  • Leftover smoothie? Pour into ice cube trays and freeze into smoothie cubes! Blend the frozen cubes with a little milk for a new smoothie another day.
